Hello
We just got back from EFY(Especially For
Youth). It was so fun!!! I really, really, really
want to go again! "In the words of today's
youth, it was awesome." haha Our group
was the For Beholds. There was so much
walking involved. I had to mummify my
feet in tape for blister prevention. It hurt.
On Thursday we had to wear
Sunday clothes the whole day. That includes
wearing heels the whole day. I gotta tell ya.
Before one of the dances, I
lathered myself in deodorant so I wouldn't
smell of unnameable substances. But as I
was putting it on my forehead, I got some in
my hair, and it looked like dandruff! I wasn't
able to get it all out. Talk about embarassing!
We had fun screaming and cheering
about everything. Our counselor Petey knew all
the other counselors, and so he would have us yell
something different to everyone. Our main call
was hoodalalee. Or, hoorah, or kapow, or "Hey,
so-and-so" really awekward. It was fun. We would
also scream for Br. Buckner(Our session director),
and Br. Bowman until our throats hurt. Brittni lost
her voice. It was funny.
Lara had some SUPER cute shoes like
these, but hers were black. CUTE!
We hads LoTs and lOtS of good lessons.
One was about 'faking confidence until making confidence.'
They also kept talking about how texting
constantly is bad. We had to leave our cell phones in our
dorms for the whole day except at free-time.
They kept talking about how girls shouldn't
readd magazines and stuffs because it tends to make girls
depressed, and it junks up your mind. hhhmmmm.......
Breakfast and dinner we would eat at the Cannon Center,
but lunch would just be a sack lunch. They were very good.
But one of the days we had Subway, and that
was good.
okay, everyone has a COW(Crush Of the Week)
when they go to EFY right? Of course, right. So the girlsand
decided to right down who they liked on piece of paper, and
swap papers, and see who liked who. Yeah, I thought this
one guy was cool. Arielle tried to talk us out of it saying, that
she did it once, and no one liked her, and she felt really bad,
and she didn't want anyone to get their feelings hurt.
But, we did it anyway. Hhhmm. I ended up
regretting it. 7 guys liked Lexi, and one guy liked every girl
except Arielle(now I felt bad), me, and Lindsey. awe well.
When am I gonna see him again anyways right?
Pizza night was awesome. Our group got 8
pizzas, 2 dessert pizzas, 2 things of ice cream, 2 packages
of cookies, 2 sodas, and a galon of fruit punch. Afterwards,
we all got our mattresses, stripped them of their linens, and
played matress dominoes. We all squished eachother. We
kept saying "One more time" about 8 times, until it was 15
minutes past lights-out. We filmed it 3 times, and gave it in
to the slideshow on Friday. "It was awesome".
For the dances and games night you needed
closed-toed-shoes, which I sorely needed. So, on our way up
on Monday morning, I popped into Pay-less and bought some
formal, and informal shoes. May I add that they are darling?
But I didn't think about walking around in new shoes and
getting blisters.
Both dances were awesome. There was modesty,
there were good songs(so you don't have to worry about awkward
songs when you're dancing with a guy), no swearing songs... and
the guys had to ask you to dance. Altogehter, 8 guys I didn't know
asking me to dance. "It was awesome" Derrek taught me some
swing dance moves. Girls dig guys that can swing dance. One time
I asked this random guy to dance, and it ended up he knew Mikako
and Chase Adams. I thought that was cool. And 3 (cute) guys
complemented my dress. They said they thought it was cute. It was
nice how the guys would hold the doors open for the girls, and escort
them, and one guy carried my bag for me. So nice!
